Multibox x5: Which class?

Hey guys! Im new to this whole multiboxing thing, but i'm pretty keen on giving it ago, but theres one thing i cant decide:

Which class?

I want to be kinda pure about it... 5 shamans, 5 hunters, 5 priests... that sort've thing... but im wondering what to do. So far im leaning towards 5 hunters or shamans.

Heres the thing, ultimate goal is to be able to do some heroics. Any heroics, but to be able to solo them.

So we all know the 5 shaman dealy:

15% crit and 15% hit totem of wrath
101 spell damage, 4 groundings
5 earth elementals
240hp/2 + 25mana/2 group wide.

Good synergy with 2.5 minutes of bloodlust spread out, healing, tanks on a 20 min cd, etc.

However that seems tried and tested, old and kinda 'easy' so to speak. It also doesnt help that i have 2 70 shamans ;/

Another option is 5 hunters:

15% damage via ferocious inspiration (all of them beast, or perhaps 1 is marks for TSA)
110 ap group wide (i've seen it with other hunters, all marking the same mob at the same time can cause hunters mark to stack, whether the ap stacks or not i dont know, but 550 ap lol!)
5 pets, so 5 free tanks with their own dps
5 ranged attackers not taking damage
5 different traps each, mass slow and cc
AoE options (while aoe doesnt seem very much, pulling 5 mobs, 5 tanks, and being able to drop multishots into them all, or perhaps 5x volley and explosive trap)
3 minute CD doubles the damage of the group for 15 seconds, 5 rapid shot/beast wraths. OVER 9000!! dps for the sustained period!

The overall idea i want to be able to solo one or more heroics, and preferably with the hunter setup.

I suppose the question is, do any of the level 70 hunter multiboxers have any experience in this area? I'd prefer not to take a healer, but i just want to know if my little pets can live for about 10 seconds each on a boss fight. That'd be enough to kill most bosses in heroics.

Boar or bear + 11k armor + 9% dodge from talents + 8k ish hp + 5% miss (hopefully i can get some sort've sync lag bug and get 5 stacks of scorpid. ZOMG 25%, that'd make everything easy mode).

Any advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated!

I've thought of other class combos, i dont think im ready for 5x melee group yet, or even mages (got way too many mages). 5x boomkin's probably rawk something fierce, except of course that i already have 3x70 druids, seperately ;/. 5 priests? VT, SW:P, /laugh? 5 locks seems way too boring. 5 corruptions, 4 agonies and shadows, shadow bolt spam = pet attack. I know its probably like the hunters but i just feel locks are more boring comparatively.

to answer your question "shamans" are the easiest followed by warlocks and then if you want to pve u could grab a pally tank with a holy priest and 3 mages works real well too.

I just started my group this past weekend (see sig) and I really like it. Although I'm only at level 10, it's a lot of fun using a bunch of different classes. Personally I think that I'd get bored playing all one class.

Im fine with all of the same class. This is just a side project to my regular wowage, so if i get sick of em i can reroll easily enough.

However, doesnt anyone have some multibox hunter experience at 70 that can lend some insight to the viability of solo heroics with that gear setup?

the idea with the hunter is just fine .. but ...

if you choose a pet take a revenger .. or how they are called ...

they have best dps ... and dps > than the bear stats ... read the hunter forum ...

or take 5 owls because of screech stacks afaik

if screech don´t stack i would prefer 4 refenger and 1 owl .. trust me it´s better than bad its good

ps .. ithink hunter 5 box is imba .. since i soloed parts of uldaman (40) and bfd (24) with my lowie hunter ... hot tank healing ... mass dmg ... but no huntersmark stacking afaik

Wolves howls stack with each other, which is insane dps versus 5 ravagers.

5xShamans in some heroics = Proven using kiting, elementals, and other tactics.

5xHunters = Not as proven. I think you'd be able to do a couple, BUT... here's the problem.

Hunters pets are going to be able to tank just fine in normal mode instances, but they're going to have problems staying alive in Heroic mode. Heroic bosses are going to 2-shot pets. I think it's possible to do the odd heroic using very involved tactics (FD rotations, round robin pet taunts, kiting, etc), but it won't be pretty.

I have an alt team of 4xHunters and 1xPriest that I have no intentions of ever being able to do a heroic. The pets just can't tank heroic content (they scale OK, but not that well), even with a priest chain healing a beefy one. I think multi-hunters are going to be a good BG team, OK in arena (shaman still have too much going for them there), and great for normal 5-man content.

You can't have it all, not even multiboxing. About the closest you can come to is a Pally+4xShammy team where you run PvE well with the full 5, arena with the 4xShammies, and BGs with either 4xShammy or 4xShammy+Paladin.

Thank you Boylston! Thats exactly the kind of stuff i wanted to hear. I took my hunter solo inside a heroic today to see if it could even tank the trash. Sad to say that even with 12k armor, my poor pet still got 3 shot. Without excessive kiting, and strategic MD rotations, i wont even be able to do trash on my hunters. Its been proven with Veronika i believe that with enough flat out burst dps you can just go through most heroics as a shaman combo. The ability to do this only scales with gear, and having a massive set advantage of hit cap without gear, and 15% base crit through totems, cant complain.

I dont really intend to pvp much with my combo. Although i may give it a go purely for gear, it was never my intention to do such. For pure heroics, i was considering trying 5 druids, since swarm and moonkin aura stacks. 10% miss on mobs, high armor, massive burst and spot healing if need be. They'd be fully capable of just standing there and taking it vs heroic bosses, after some pvp gear, but im not interested in leveling any more druids.

I guess ill give it a go with the shamans, and if i feel really adventurous i may try harder pve content with some hunters (sort've like the hunter vs world series, expect with 5 of them lol).

I've often wondered if 5 Druids would be a working combination, but I'm not familiar enough with the class to know.

As for Hunters, I've got 2 of them to 70 and geared (one Horde, one Alliance) and yeah, definitely you're not going to be doing Heroic content with a 5xHunter team, at least, not very easily anyway. The only other combination I could think of would be 5 Warlocks. Soulstones for anti-wipe (this too I think is critical for any realistic homogeneous 5-group) voids/felguards for tanks and themselves for DPS.

That said, I've never had a 70 Warlock (or a 60, closest is 44) so I can't say how they'd go in end-game PvE.

The other advantage I see to Shamans to is their inbuilt anti-wipe. With a Reincarnation @ 30, from then on, I figure you'd have to better fairly unwipable (my team only 23 atm). With 5 anti-wipes an hour that's a fallback bonus no other homogeneous 5-group could match (except perhaps for 5 Paladins.......lol).

Moonkin aura does not stack!!

The best spellcrit stacking you can pull off is 4 Totems of Wrath and a Moonkin in the group for 3+3+3+3+5= 17% crit.

If you're really not interested in PvP much, I think you may benefit from getting away from the "single class" idea.

If this is a side project, I'd roll up something that would go with your current main(s). You said you have 3 druids already... Maybe roll hunters to go with them? I think a Feral+Resto+3xHunter DPS/CC group would be quite capable in heroics. A pally tank is better for multi-mob aggro, but you have some nice hunter CC and a bear can certainly swipe enough to deal with limited healing aggro.

I'd just build a team around your main, though. The sooner you break out of the "one class" mindset, the more success you'll have with heroics.
