I'd run fed ex 1-10, or just find a good spot and grind. The other option is to follow a quest guide, but skip everything that has drops. If you fall behind the guide because of this, grind mobs for a level in a good dense spot.
Those spots in westfall look juicy. I'd love to know if anyone has found any hyper spawns at higher levels. They'd be absolutely amazing to grind on.
Does anyone have advice for the early levels? Currently levelling my first squad using my normal solo quest route and it is going super slow. Is simple mob grinding better than all these horrible night elf loot quests? Bit of a pain since this was mostly a setup test squad and I'm going to have to do it all again.

Thanks for sharing guys, From what I can tell, if server not so busy-mornings are the best for questing as not many people in the open: At peak hours I go and grind dungeons the XP is not so bad on 5 guys, plus you get some loot and gear. Whenever i get bored i jump out and do some quests. usually i skip collecting quests if i need to collect 10-20 things on each guy and drop rate is also low. I'm only 37 atm. on my 5 shamans- taking my sweet time.... But i'll make sure to check what people posted above, thanks again!

Great stuff guys, this should be stickied
I think that you should follow your quest route, but skip any and all collection type quests unless they are like less than 5 items per character. Do kill quests, do click item type quests, do fedex quests. If you fall behind in levels on your route, stop in a place with high mob density and grind a level. Collection quests are the bane of MBing experience. To give you an idea, granted this was launch day, I think I spent 2-3 hours in Fargodeep mine in Elwynn Forest trying to do the candle and gold dust collection quests. If I had the entire place to myself, it might have taken me an hour, but still, an hour for slow rate of killing + 2 quest turn ins is terrible xp.
The issue with collection quests usually boils down to, spawn density. As a 5 boxer, very few collection quest areas are going to support your rate of killing, which means if you're not killing at or near your maximum potential, you're losing xp the longer you stay in that area. I'll add another exception for collection quests. If the spawn is enormous and you never run out of stuff to kill for the quest, you might want to consider doing it. In general though, what I would do is, follow a quest guide, and only do kill quests, fedex quests, and clicky quests, and just massacre everything you come across between quests while running.
Horde
So far combination of Tirisfall and Durator Kill quests and FedEX were enough to reach level 10

i'd suggest orcs/trolls go to Tirisfall and do the kill quests there around 7-9. There are a lot of good ones.
What I usually do is:
If undead: Level through lv 5 or 6 and then move to orc start area:
Do all quests there apart: collection quests and from there move to troll village pick all quests, then move to razor hill: pick all quests there, and do all the quests/ don't forget to go up the tower when you kill benedict and loot the quests from chest there. When you complete all the quests there and you're level 8/9 get the quests to meet near the burning blade cave north east and farm there until you're level 10/11.
From there move to Orgrimmar, pick all quests, move to Crossroads, get the quest to Ratchest, pick the quests there. Do the basic quests that you've received. From there, move to Undercity quickly, pick the quest for Rfc, move to Sepulchur. Do the basic kill quest there and once you're finished there you should be around 12/13.
Hs to Orgrimmar (don't forget to set your HS there) and move to Crossroads and do the other set of lv 13 quests there (mostly the centaurs bosses and the lake discovery). Once you reach lv 14, I'd recommend waiting in Ogrimmar for buff.
The Rfc farm will take you to the lv 19 (you should stay there until that level).
From Rfc farm, you should move to Crossroads, do the quests for Wc and complete the Wc quests there and farm Wc until lv 22.
From there move to Bfd or do the quests.
I'll posts later this week detailed guide for quests and dungeon mix up to 50.
