Mage specs

So, I could use some help with a proper mage spec for 4 mages and 1 priest.
Arcane subtlety is a given, but the rest. Go frost or continue down the arcane tree?
The mages are lvl 28 and take quite a beating at times. Would it help going for frost bite in order to make the kiting a little less punishing? Also, Ice Barrier is pretty tempting in the future.

Same setup here. Mages x 4, Priest x 1

I went down down the fire tree for the stun at 21 points.

I’m now rolling into arcane points until PoM. I'm unsure what I'll do after that, probably just a few more in each to get more crits or dmg, etc.

Typical pull = just bubble my main mage, drop Renew in him, and flash heal for the win.

If the mobs are thick, I might also bubble the priest and another top dps mage prior to nuking.

1 priest 4 mage here as well. Full on frost spec. Wouldn't change it for anything. Kill most mobs before they even reach me. This includes bosses. Lvl 26 currently and going fast even with my play time or lack thereof. Frost bite is amazing and now im working on shatter which if i crit on multiple mages pretty much just destroys mobs hp.

all instances done so far for my level without issue. Give it a shot, you wont regret it.

I think it depends if you want to aoe strong or not. I think AE is is king and then you pick which single target nuke you want (frostbolt or fireball) for bosses. I’ve aoe farmed with AE With success (20-25k/hr in stocks). I went 3/3 ele precision for bosses and down arcane for clear casting and AE crit.

IMO it seems like a waste to build around single target clearing with CC with 3+ mages. SM and ZF are ripe for AOE.

things might change after ZF but I’m not there yet to comment.

i originally planned around POM pyro for gibbing red outside instances but I never see anyone (except for running to SM as alliance) so it might be a waste. I love the fire stun spec with pom pyro and blastwave.

I am lvl 44 now with my MMMMP Team and I skilled in the arcane tree till arcane concentration & improved AE (I am using AE 90% of the time). I am not sure what is finally the ultimate best way to spend my other points. But i decided for going deeper in fire, at least while leveling.

Blast wave is nice additional to my AE and my fire spells (fireball, fire blast, pyro as initial) are pretty strong against bosses. Maybe when the trashmobs are getting more life, dealing more dmg and so on, i might swap into a deeper arcane spec or test out frost.

But this situation still not happend right now. Things running very smooth (and simple).

Did anyone clear BRD with 4 mages? Emperor Thaurissan seem to be really hard since he enrages and becomes spell immune

I’d like to know this too, but if ironfoe drops it wouldn’t even matter lol. No rogue or warrior to take it.

Yes still full frost spec. Level 29 now. Cleared BFD until 27 now working on RFK until 32-33. Maxed out shatter talent which is really nice. So far have not had any issues. When mobs are 1 level below mine i can gather a couple packs and aoe them down with arc explosion which does make clearing a bit faster. Wish i had more time to play, certainly interested to see if this can be done in end dungeons. All good thus far though!
