Default Keyclone and DualView, Vista X64, "NVOGLDC invisible" ?

    Hello,

I'm new to the dual-boxing (or in my case, I went for tri-box) concept, so I'm learning as I go.

Currently I've gotten my pally/mage/priest group to lvl 6 and I'm enjoying it so far. However, I have tried to set up keyclone for these three clients. All has gone well so far, keys are passed between the clients, which is all fine. But when I try to make regions and load my clients that way, the windows are not moved at all. I get a program in my taskbar called "NVOGLDC invisible" which makes a non-transparent overlay where the region I decided would be. This overlay is always on top, and if I mouse over it, I get the "busy" pointer in Vista. This is not exactly what I was hoping for, so I started searching around for an answer to this, but found none. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

    My system specs are:
    AMD Athlon X2 64, 6400+
    4GB Ballistix DDR2 PC6400 (matched, dual chan, 800mhz)
2xXFX GeForce 8800GTS 512 (not running SLI, I like using two monitors)
    2 Chimei 22" widescreen monitors.
A PSU with enough power to run twice the hardware I have without coughing (850W should be enough, no?)

Running the clients by themselves is usually not a problem, but I'd like to limit the FPS on my background clones through keyclone/maximizer to save the FPS for my main window. Right now, I have the problem that one of my 800x600 windows goes up to near 120FPS, my main at 60, leaving nothing for the third window...

    Any suggestions?

G'morning Wyneth and welcome to the forums!

i have heard of this a couple of times. the command is set up properly as it runs wow.. BUT.. the wow window does not maximize. this implies another window is indeed in front of the wow window. (the first time i heard of this i immediately thought virus/trojan)

find wow.exe in your windows explorer... right-click/ properties. you want to UNCHECK (or CHECK... dunno which.. opposite of what is it now) the XP SP2 compatibility mode.. or something like that. there was another i heard of that would launch every app with some form of keyboard translator... allowing the user to type japanese into browsers. he was able to exclude wow.exe from that process by also going to the properties of wow.exe

good luck and let me know what you find out.

Thanks for the quick response, and I found the solution to the problem. It turns out I was running openGL mode and not D3D. As soon as I switched over to D3D mode everything started working perfectly fine. Frame rates are now stable at 20fps unfocused, 40fps focused for my secondaries, and 20fps unfocused, 70fps focused for my main.

So for those who have problems like mine, make sure you're running in D3D mode.

I have the following layout for my WoW clients now:
    * Left monitor: 2 800x500 client windows stacked on the right edge.
    * Right monitor: Full screen, my main client.

Another issue I've met is that when I use the quick keys to switch PIP, it will sometimes move my main window (which is on my right monitor, 1680x1050) to my left monitor. Any suggestions?

maximizer is getting some love for the next version. pip swap, layout editor, clone menu support, etc. i'm hoping for a release this weekend.

look for v1.8g and see if you still have the issue

    Looking forward to it

Oh, I was reading on some other people's problems with resolutions resetting to 800x600.. Could this be that, when keyclone writes into config.wtf it'll write the value of the region chosen? If the particular resolution does not exist in WoW, I'm guessing WoW will choose the closest available. It's only a thought, but would it be possible to have it so one can choose what resolution to write, and what size of region?

Maybe that's already in the feature list for v1.8g hehe
