PvE gear currently best for PvP?

So this snuck in on me a whole month ago and I missed it.

So that puts raiders in 745 gear against PvP'ers in 740 gear, at least until Warlords season 4. If raid gear is warforged it could be 751 iLevel, not sure if PvP gear can be warforged but would make it even worse if not.

As far as I know, conquest gear can not be warforged. Then again, I don't do ashran, so I don't see many of the random drops.

In Ashran and WPVP, yes, if set bonuses are left out of it PVE gear will often be be BiS for PVP just due to the higher ilvl. However, this only applies to fully upgraded Mythic difficulty gear and above (ie: warforged). And even in the case of non-warforged items, it's a 5 ilvl difference, so having the correct stats on the item might be the deciding factor on which one you should wear. It's a difference, yes, but only a slight one, that really only affects a small portion of the player base that actually gets to full mythic gear.

Furthermore as this only appears to affect WPVP and Ashran, I don't mind at all. They've always been the places that advocate bringing all your shiny imbalanced items. Constructed is not affected unlike in previous times which is the important part (Shadowmournes in Arena, Legendary Meta Gems, Absolutely redonkulous PVE trinkets, Gurthalak RNGing a scene from certain types of Japanese animations on you, etcetc.)
