Default Best levelling techniques for 1 priest + 4 warlocks?

    Hi,

I just recently started multiboxing 5 characters entirely in software, and I'm hooked.

After trying a few different setups I fell in love with priest + warlocks, for the coolness of hots, shields and dots.

Anyway.. could anyone tell me what the fastest way to levelling would be for this setup? I've been trying some "roam-grinding" as I call it.. basically I run around all over Westfall and dot everything I see, and keep running. Usually priest Renews is enough to keep the warlocks from getting low hp.

This seems quite efficient, as the warlocks have unlimited mana, provided Renews. But.. maybe it's faster to level in some other way?
I've been avoiding gathering quests lately because after a while, my hands start to hurt from all the damned clicking.

I've been running 4 x locks and 1 x priest for a little while now and hit 22 with them last night. I started out just grinding mobs and doign the occasional kill quest and then hit RFC until 18-19 or so. Since then I've actually started questing. I've been following James Leveling guide (Horde) and just skipping the collection quests. This seems to be the best strategy as it maximises XP and since I've got a full group all of the quests are very easy to complete even if they con 1 or 2 levels higher than me.

I got to 70 on my priest/4lock team in about 10 days /played by questing alone.
Trust me when I say this you will not learn how to play your team without discovering
how to play with them synergistically and by
setting up macros individually. It WILL take you
days to try to find out what works for you and what you
are comfortable with. Instancing is very difficult with this team because
of the lack of a decent tank, even with your pets.
you will also need to be ganked quite a few times in order to learn
how to pvp worth a damn. Boosting can be done but only
if you have one of the characters already but I strongly
advise against it. Honestly, most of the fun in multiboxing is
GETTING to 70 in the first place.
levelling guides are nice as well but like you've figured out- avoid
    collection quests.
grats on not jumping on the shaman bandwagon and
welcome to a very fun and rewarding class combo!

    Hello Magwo

Good to see another warlocks+priest multiboxer

I would say go holy with your priest, and lifetap/aoe heals give you virtually infinite mana, and when you get CoH thing really will speed up. You should also check out the threads wich explains how you can use mousetargeted aoe spells within macros using a map-ping. This can be quite useful for some aoe-grinding. Personally I think you should do most questing, and not much instances to level fast. You get a lot of xp from quests nowadays, but as you allready have mentioned, avoid the collect quests (allthough it can be wise to check what followups you get, it might be worth it if there is a series of simple quests afterwards)

I just have a question for you. Do you plan to mainly pvp when you hit 70? If so I will strongly advise you to reroll undeads while you still are on the lower levels. Trust me when I say that you will have a huge problem with aoe fears without (yes, I know you can get trinket, but you will need both that and will of the forsaken)

Manaburner and Cepheus had some good comments.

To add to that, I think I hit 70 on my priest+locks group (my first on a PVP server) in about 16 days /played, primarily due to leveling up tailoring to 300+ on all 5 and also having 350 enchanting, mining and skinning. This was before the questing XP bonuses and to-level XP reduction that went in with 2.3. My current group has no tradeskills but skinning and they're at about 11.5 days /played at 67.

The way I did it was pretty much quests until it was time to run instances, then run the instance for the quests and move back to normal quests. If the mobs were spread out, I'd just double-dot everything as I ran through until I needed mana, then tap+heal+lifedrain until back to full and start dotting again. For close-packed mobs or larger instance pulls, it was pretty much sic the pets, let 'em round up the mobs, then go hellfire and AoE heal until dead, rinse, repeat. I didn't carry water on my locks ever and never needed it.

I was a little slower to 70 than asbolutely possible as my strategy was to be sure I was always at or as close as possible to full mana in case PVP happened. :P I also specced straight demonology through the process because I needed a good tanking pet more than I needed mana.

I lvled 4 undead locks and 1 shadow priest to 70 locks are 41 aff and 20 demo. priest is all shadow and some disc. I used 3-4 voids in instances. was able to clear normal instances with out problems. did most of lvling in instances. (was before 2.3) this was on pvp server. it took about 17 days played but all professions where at 350 plus. Rep was at revered or higher for all factions (instanance lvling) I then made all mount gold by doing quests at 70. Gold is much better than exp.

    Anyways worked for me

    Thanks for the tips!

About the Undead thing.. my locks are human, and my priest is draenei.. hmm.. and I do plan to do arena sometime in the future.
Problem is that the server where I usually keep horde characters (and have some spare gold), is giving me a lot of lag when I multibox, for some reason.

Meh.. the EU "multiboxer guild" plays Alliance, right?
