    Default Disenchanting questions.

    Hey Multi-boxers. Quick question.

When it comes to Disenchanting. Can you A) Disenchant quest rewards? (I think you can) and if so B) How do you disenchant items from your teammates? I figure a lot of the rewards my other Clone accounts get will eventually become useless. Now I would rather have those nice junk drops get disenchanted. But since I can't transfer them, how do I disenchant them without turning all my clones into Enchanters, which seems expensive.

    Right now, I have 3 characters, I figure 1 is going to be my Enchanter/Skinner, 2nd will be a Miner/JewelCrafter and 3rd will be a Herbalist/Tailor.

This should cover all the things I can pick up for extra cash and allow me to make items for all my clones. (Note, my clones are a Priest and 2 Mages).

Yes, you can disenchant quest rewards. The only items you can't disenchant are items purchased with Honor points (I believe, I don't think there's any others). *** You can't disenchant via the trade window. I stand corrected ***

For ease of professions, here's my set up:

    Main - Miner/Skinner
    2nd - JC / LW
    3rd - Enchanter / Tailor

This allows me to be on the go as I don't have to stop and control one of my minions to mine or skin.
When my bags are full, I smelt then transfer the appropriate items to the appropriate minion.
I only craft items when I need to go train new class skills which I'm there I pick up more prof skills as needed.
    Rinse and repeat.

To disenchant soulbound items, you open a Trade window with your Enchanting minion, place the items in the "Do Not Trade" slot, disenchant.
Is this new and unmentioned in patch notes?

I don't think that is possible, I will have to test this.

    Hmpf, just tested it ...
Of course it does not work, you get a message like "this ability can only be used on items which are soulbound to you" (or something else with that meaning).

    Sad thing somehow ...

Okay, that's what I figured the no-trade window would be where it would happen if it worked at all. I'm not shocked it doesn't though.

Well, that means if I want to maximize the stuff I can disenchant, I would have to turn all my alts into Enchanters, but that's also way too much work just to get a few extra dusts, dusts they'll no doubt end up using anyways because I'll need to train them up in enchanting. So for now, It's going to have to be the main only who will have enchanting.

I hear for Enchanting, their are drops that only the enchanter can see and pick up? Important drops you'll want to keep. That's why my main will be the enchanter. Although Miner/Skinner does make a lot of sense.

You can macro skinning so that another char can do it based on your main's target. Something like:

    Code:
    /cast [target=focustarget,dead,skinnable] Skinning
I haven't bothered myself though. If you're all on one machine or the mouse is broadcast via something like synergy I find it easy to mouse over to the skinner's window.

I actually put mining on an alt too so that I could use treasure finding on my dwarf pally main. It actually helps with some quests.

You can only DE non-soulbound, non-pvp, and most non-rep-related drops(Can't de Halaa gear for example, nor the Lower City spelldmg mace I think)

You can DE your own quest rewards, but not alts' soulbound rewards. And unless you really need mats, weigh possible mat outcome price/cost versus what the Vendor will give you if you simply sell it to them; eg an 8-12g staff sell is worth far more than some vision dust, moreso when you're past vision dust. a 2g green vs an Arcane dust...I'd go for the dust in THAT scenario cuz arcane is used for a ton of things even when enchanting is done; a 4-6g green however, the sale to vendor wins out, gotta get your epic flyer somehow ;p Just make sure it's not a green/blue you could sell on the AH for twice or more that amount, like most "Of the Sorceror" gear going for anywhere from 10 to 40g, let alone blues.

I figure everything between level 1 - 50 is not really worth putting on the AH unless it's blue. So I figure, 99% of what I get, is worth DEing and that last 1% I might be upset that I find out I could have sold for more but, I won't be that disappointed until I get to 50+ where I'll be more careful.
