Hi--I'm not really a dual-boxer. I don't really intend to play multiple accounts at the same time, so my needs are pretty simple. At most, what I'd be doing is perhaps flipping back and forth between windows in order to run off crew skill missions in two accounts at once, and possibly to deal with a bit of administration stuff within a vanity guild I have. So really, I have the most basic need of just wanting to be able to run two instances of the game simultaneously, without any need for any sort of unified control, etc. I would kind of prefer, in other words, to not have to worry about investing significant money into a feature-rich product with features I'll never use. My desire to do this is mostly whimsical.
Anyway, I came across this article online: Link Removed
This suggests that you could theoretically accomplish the task of multi-instancing the game using a sandbox. Specifically, it mentions a program called Sandboxie. I went ahead and installed the software on a free trial basis and gave it a whirl. SWTOR did load up just fine within the sandbox, however attempting to launch a second copy (outside of the sandbox) just produced the same warning it always does about the launcher detecting an already existing process. I couldn't get past choosing my environment.
So I'm just wondering if maybe I'm doing something wrong, or if the writer of that article just didn't bother to even check if it would work or not before telling people that it would. Has anybody here had experience with this or any other sandboxing program and SWTOR? Thanks in advance!

Sorry--didn't realize that URL fell outside of the EULA. Anyway, it's easy to find that write-up if you want to. My question remains.
Ugh--I apologize for wasting your time. I figured out the answer to my own question. I'll discuss it here and just leave it if you think it would be of interest to your community. If not, feel free to delete this thread.
Anyway, the trick is that you have to start your first instance of SWTOR outside of the sandbox. Log into the game and everything. At that point, start a second instance of the client within a sandbox. You will still get the prompt about a second instance of the game running, and it will ask you to close the process in order to proceed, but because the game is running within the sandbox, it can't actually close the process. So just say "yes", and the log-in process proceeds to the next step. After clicking the "Play" button, you will be asked one more time to close the secondary process. Just say "yes" again, and then you'll be good to go. I already used an alt on a trial account to move an alt on my main account into my vanity guild. Yay.
Edit: I should mention, it runs slow as heck, but that probably has more to do with the computer I tried it on. On a good computer with a lot of RAM, I'm sure it would be fine.
