This guy did a couple of tests, 1 lava burst hitting 4x. Initial spell procs both overload and the staff proc, and the staff proc procs overload again. On top of that you get lightning shield orbs and mana return chances. Too bad that flame shock proccing staff just sends a copy of the damage and not a copy of the spell, so it doesn't proc lava surge.

I doubt he was fully buffed, since the lvb hits for rather low dmg (on raid last night mine were hitting for 48k average).

This is gonna be fun in pvp for ele's who can get their hands on 1 or more staffs. Myself currently busy with last part of the quest, and the 391 staff is already very good. Think I'll need 2 more resets.

3 shamans with normal weapon and 1 with legendary is nearly always gonna give you guaranteed kill in 5v5.

1) It looks that - if the stars align - 1 lava burst can result in 5 effective spells with the staff:

- initial lava burst
- overload procs from initial lava burst
- staff procs and copies initial lava burst
- overload procs from copy
- staff procs on copy

5x crits if flame shock is on target ... and 5x possible lightning shield stack and mana return ...


2) Dots are not copied as a spell, so they can't cause procs like lave surge. If the staff procs on a dot tick, it will use an seperate name and just copy the damage of the tic.

What seems like to be a bug is that flametongue weapon procs everytime the flame shock dot gets copied from the staff proc, just like what would happen when we would melee someone. Which is another 1.5-2k free dmg.

wow. that is insane. Imagine 5 shaman with them, and the magic "stars align" thats 25 lavabursts.... other than abilities that grant immunity there's no way anyone can live through that. I bet it could even get a shadow priest with Dispersion up.
