    Default Priest healing macros, holy?

First I'll share what I've used for 85 levels (with a lot of tweaking) With little exception, she's been disc.

My priest is on two step like everyone else

    1)

    /stopmacro [channeling]
    /cast [nocombat] prayer of healing
/castsequence [@Focus, exists] Power Word: Shield, prayer of healing, penance, renew, prayer of mending
    /cast inner focus
    /focus whox
    /use 13
    /use 14
    /dismount

    2) This macro lets my toon dps a bit on trash (when we're switching target s alot), when she can afford the mana, but stop dpsing on boss fights while still using shadowfiend on CD

    /stopmacro [channeling]
    /castsequence reset=target smite, smite, null
    /cast Shadowfiend
    /use 13
    /use 14
    /dismount
    /focus whox

Sadly, even with blessing of might and replenish, I'm struggling to keep her from oom in the 83-85 level dungeons. I know this is partially a problem of gear, but I'm also underwhelmed by the throughput of her healing so I'd like to switch her to holy.

Does anyone have any really great holy healing strategies? I find chakra a little confusing. I'd ideally like my tank healing to continue to be on a macro.

I have several holy priests. Here are my suggestions:

    1. Start using click healing. Healing macros waste mana. I use Grid, GridCustomLayouts, and Clique. There are several alternatives (vuhdo, healbot, probably more).
    2. Make lightwell drop using send-next-click (if you are using isboxer) from your tank
    3. I just replaced my disc dps macro with one spell: chakra. Any bonus healing i happen to get from it is nice. Otherwise I don't worry about it. Its not a make or break gimmick like that eclipse crap is on boomkins.
    4. Never have the priest dps. If you require dps from a holy priest you have other issues.
    5. My strategy is to keep renew up on the tank. Use binding heal when it is about to expire if the fight will continue - this refreshes renew. When fighting a boss or large pull, i drop lightwell and click it right before i engage the mobs to give plenty of time to get aggro without dying.
    6. Finally, switch to click healing. :P The difference is amazing and will make instances so much easier.
    Working on the following teams:
    (85) - PVP - Holy Paladin, Holy Priest, Resto Druid
    (85) - Paladin tank, cat druid, fire mage, demon lock, holy priest
    (80) - Dk tank, destro lock, bm hunter, enh shaman, holy priest
    (85 pally/lock) powerleveling 34 toons under 70

Click healing FTW. I will post my smite spec priest macros soon.
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

I've never really been a fan of macroing the heals.
You could go with a basic macro.

Something like castsequence (tank target) PW: Shield, null
    With reset=x/combat possibly.

    And then manage the heals.

If you macro them, you'd need several macros.
Because sometimes there is a lot of damage coming.
    And other times a trickle.

Yeah, healing is too unpredictable and situational to macro effectively. It wastes mana.

I use Healbot, grid and Clique, works good enough for what I do for now.

i want to clarify that I do have all my healing set up so it can be click healed! I just like having a tank healing rotation. Maybe thats a bad idea now that I've hit 85.

I might go with two DPS keys.
Each could be a two-step, where when you push "1" it sends the two-step to the DPS.
And when you push "2", it sends the same to the DPS, but also sends something to the Healer.

Then have the healer get some basic auto healing on the tank.
I'd go light on this, but you can adjust the macro as you like.

When healing with my team of pali, priest, lock, mage, shami i have all heal macros on the side of the razor naga, has twelve buttons on the side, takes couple week to get used to but now i couldnt go without it.
Get a bit of a sore thumb.

key 4 (keyboard) is my insta everyone casts on target / Shield on pali.
Lightwell glyphed, out on every boss, use target macro followed by IWT key (quick key R and T for that. DPS dont drop target to target lightwell which is great.
They still continue to DPS I just love this thing, helps a lot

Tank num1, castsequence, renew, heal, heal, heal,,, repeat
    / cast chakra.
/use13-14. ..For cata instances i pretty much always spam this, I lose little mana with it to
Tank - Num 2, Prayer of Mending. Always on the tank.
AOE - Num 3, circle of healing / prayer of healing.
Healer - Num 4 - Priest heal self.
Oh crap heal, Tank about to die - NUM5 - Gaurdian spirit, Flash heal, Flash Heal, Greater Heal.
Oh crap, everyone about to die - NUM6 - Divine Hymn / Pali AOE heal / Shami chain Heal.
    NUM 7-9 heals each DPS.

I have fade in one of these somewhere that always goes off on CD

Ive ditched most of my long healer macros now in favour of simple ones like this now
    /target player
    /cast spell

    /Target Tank
/castsequence reset=5 renew, heal, heal, heal
    /cast Chakra

When running priest as main i use mouse over macros on the razor naga with healbot so i dont drop target and my DKS dont become idiots.
