"Unlike the pets from the Collector's Edition of World of Warcraft, the Netherwhelp's Collar item is attached and sent to all your characters, present and future, in the mail as soon as upgrade your account. Blizzard had originally announced that once you upgrade your game, you cannot re-upgrade it with a Collector's Edition at a later time. This means that the characters associated with your regularly upgraded account could never obtain this item, with a transfer of a character to a Collector's Edition account not allowed."
I suppose I could have started over with a collectors version and the new BC collectors for my 2nd priest. But why spend the $400 or so on two pets? I figured out an easier way. This only works if you have an account with a collectors edition flag already.
Buy 1 collector's edition BC (and / or original WoW collectors).
Redeem Pets (Mailbox for BC pet and Inventory for Original)
Level up to level 10.
Pay $25.
Paid character transfer to the same server, different account.
Presto, NW pet and Zergling/Panda/Diablo without paying extra for the Collectors versions.
If you transfer from a BC account, you have to have BC on the new account too, before you can transfer.
Yes, I realize that this costs $20 + $40 + $25.... so a total of $85. But you get 1 free month on your original account (refer a friend), a copy of WoW with TBC expansion and two exclusive pets with only pair of Collectors. So, $25 for collector's pets. Not bad considering that new original collectors are fetching $300+ on ebay.
So my 2nd priest now has the same pets as Xzin
Too bad I don't have 10 Zergling pets.... now THAT would be a sight to see!
