Exorcism Macro

Hello,

I just wanted to know if someone's been able to solve the question of the exorcism spam for proc (instant exo) without:

a) losing dps as it starts casting when we spam it (with the /stopcasting);
b) not losing dps and needing to be jumping all the time (which is extremely annoying and still results in dps loss as they sometimes jump very far with the IwT spam...)

I don't think that is possible the closest you are going to get is properly
/stopcasting
/cast exorcism

and as you know if you don't have art of war proc its going to reset the swing timer

has anyone tested if the swing timer is reset while moving and casting a spell? as non instant spell wont start then maby it wont reset the swing timer also

Technically, it doesn't reset the swing timer anymore, it delays the swing for the duration of the cast. That is, if you are at 1sec into a 1.5s swing timer, hit a spell, it will hold the swing, cast the spell, then continue the swing @ the remaining 0.5s. That's how it's supposed to work, but who knows if that's the way it does or continues to work {I've been unsubscribed for a few months now}.

The loss in DPS is actually from the fact that stopcasting is exactly that...a command to cancel a cast in progress. It is not a "only try to cast if this is instant". With latency and other delays between the activation of the spell and the termination of the spell via stopcasting in relation to instant spells, you are increasing the time it takes for a white swing to complete. Thus, you take that 1.5s weaponswing then add the 1.5s cast time of a non-proc Exorcism and subtract whatever for the actual termination of the cast, you have the potential for that 1.5s swing to actually take 2-3s to complete.

If it reset the swing timer, it would be the Xs of wasted swing time + 1.5s cast time + 1.5s swing timer - termination = at least 3s, increasing exponentially for every attempt at failed stopcasting and interrupted swing, where you could run into issues where every attempted swing is reset.

I've been wondering about this as well. Does this also mean the following is the only way to cast instant chain lightning procs on an enhancement shaman?

yeah your right just tested it and spamming something like that they just stand ther doing noting
but i also tested moving by makeing a two step key in isboxer step 1 jump on down press and on step 2 on released normal non macro Exorcism and it looks like that works swings look normal and he casts Exorcism when AoW procs

at first glance it seems to not give any penalties when pressing exorcism while in the air so a two step key might work

to clarify what im doing on down press i am jumping and on release it press exorcism

i dont know you guys have to try it out and see if that works or not
