    Default Deathknight DPS leveling rotation/macro?

    Hey guys,

I have made a blood DPS leveling macro:
    #showtooltip
/castsequence reset=10 Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Heart Strike,
Heart Strike, Heart Strike, Death Coil, Obliterate, Death Coil

Is this the right rotation to use? And did /castsequence macro's changed? Because when i casted every ability from my macro, i need to wait a long time before i can use my rotation again. I just want to start casting Icy Touch, Plague Strike etc. whenever i casted the last ability from my macro.

    Kind regards,

A few problem's with your macro:

    - Death Coil uses Runic Power, so it is possible for your castsequence to become stuck on a deathcoil until you generate enough runic power to cast it.
    - Your sequence uses 3 blood runes, 2 frost runes, and 2 unholy runes

(I am not sure why you are using multiple Blood specs, but you may want to use glyphed Death Strike instead of Obliterate as Death Strike provides significant self healing as well as your mastery ability blood shield)

So, remove death coil from your sequence and bind it to a separate spam key and also remove a heart strike. That is still far from ideal, so I will mention a few other suggestions.

As far as DK PvE DPS specs go, Unholy is my favorite right now. The Runic Corruption talent changes the Runic Empowerment ability to increase the regeneration rate of all of your runes by 100%, rather then a random rune, so your rune recovery is predictable and constant. Dark Transformation is the only Caveat here, but it is fairly easy to manage compared to say Rime.

If you use ISBoxer+Innserspace, you can setup what are called "steps" which allows a single key to cycle through pressing multiple keys. This is nice, because you can include abilities like Death Coil, Summon Gargoyle, and Dark Transformation as independent steps so you have a single spam key that can not be stuck on any one ability. Also, you can setup toggle modes to switch your primary spam key between an ideal AOE and Single target sequence.

Don't use a macro at all.

In whatever you use gaming keyboard/isboxer/ keyclone etc...

Make a keymap that is mapped say to #2.

When you press #2 have it send 2 3 4 5 to all of your Dk's
When it is released have it send #2 to all your Dk's.

#2 = Icy touch (till high enough lvl to howling blast)
#3 = Plague Strike (necrotic strike in pvp setup @ 83+)
#4 = Blood Strike (single target) or a Pestilence / BB macro for AoE.
    #5 = Frost Strike

Here is a thread on DK's, the first page describes and instructs you how to setup a pseudo priority based macro DPS spam button.

    It works very very well.

    http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=33087

Essentially what you will do if you follow the instructions is create one button that FTL assists, IWTs and sends 7 or 8 DPS abilities simultaneously. The way that works is WoW will randomly select one of those abilities to use if they are all sent at the same instant. By putting say, 3 heart strikes, 2 blood strikes, 1 plague strike, and 1 rune strike into those DPS keys, you've created a weighted system where HS is the most likely to be used. It also handles cooldowns exceptionally well. If a key cannot be pressed due to cooldowns/range issues another key is automatically pressed.
