Thread: Boosting nerf

    Default Boosting nerf

Just tested an SM cathedral pull - which is a pretty big one, and I can't tell any difference at all in the amount of damage done per target. I don't know what the old damage cap was, but it must have been pretty high and this new formula isn't quite as bad as I had imagined. I believe I was doing about 90-95% of my previous damage with consecrate.

The only bigger pull I know of is Stratholme (single pull all of undead side), I'll test that one out but I have a feeling that you will still be able to put out enough damage to kill everything (although it may take slightly longer).

    So, keep on boosting

Very glad to hear as I'm just getting ready to start a boosting wave. Is Swipe considered AoE anyway? Gonna give bear boosting a try this time.

For boosting, you're dropping conc. The purpose of conc is to aggro shit and make it hate your tank. In theory, no one else should be getting hate other than proximity hate.

New system: sometimes you will damage stuff that got 0 damage before. Net improvement for boosting.

when boosting the purpose of consecrate is damage not aggro (it's a good 40-60% of my total dmg when I run SM Cath 1 pulls as a prot pally)
2,3,5 boxing wow with Wow Open Box and MAMA, give them a try!

Still a net gain if you're not naked. The cap scales now, it didn't before. Assuming they didn't nerf the tar out of the cap with no one noticing, it should go up meaningfully if your gear is good, meaning you're doing more damage and spreading it out more evenly.

Consecration is my major damage dealing spell too, AoE wise. When I went for the Jenkins title on my team, I only ran them 4 thru UBRS and rounded up a large enough group of whelps, laid down 4xCons and bubbled while they laid waste to them. I used the bubble that only cuts damage in half so I could heal up, then toss down another Cons when cooldown was up.
