Thread: 5-man Naxxramas

  1. #1

    Arrow 5-man Naxxramas

After finishing ToC heroic with my mixed team yesterday, I've cleared all 5-man content available in game now.

So I decided test my DPS in Naxx 10 and it went promisingly well. Patchwerk defeated with no problem: Screenshot.
Then I tried Grobbulus too. That one was harder but I feel the chance killing him is very high too.

This was also my first Wrath raid at all, since the 5box are my only 80s and I've farmed just 5-man heroics before or old raid content with them. (can solo BWL, MC, Hydross, Najentus, Doomwalker, Kazzak).

Thus I'm total Naxx nab. I want to ask if someone tried to 5 man more bosses in this instance or which else are even doable this way. Some Naxx bosses are probably very hard or maybe impossible with just one tank and at some point I will need to group with someone else. Before it comes I want to enjoy the unique initial exploring and challenge where one can get alone.

I've tried Noth the plaguebringer, should be doable with 5, I just ran oom and didnt try again. Only trick is near the end, the adds start using lots of AoE, so they need to be stunned (pally tanks ftw) and killed quickly. Safety dance should be fine too, provided you can move well enough, as there is no enrage timer. Spider wing can probably be done too, the Adds will be a bit tough with one tank, but maybe some encounter specific macros will help. I think the only thing you COULDNT do without a second tank is Thaddius, and 4 horsemen. Everything else can be done if you are overgeared in heroic badge gear. Instructor Razuvious might be impossible as well, cause youd lose 1 dps to the MC... At least youll be able to bypass the bosses and go straight to Sapph, he's doable with 5, just a lot of AoE...

    everyting is doable, except:
    Thaddius
    4h(maybe)
    Gluth

    Is it worth doing? nope.

if you have the DPS Gluth can be done without even worrying about the zombies, just tank him where he stands. But you probably wouldnt have the dps with only 5, and.

It's worth doing for the fun of it, but you have to be really overgeared, negating the usefulness of any gear drops, save for a few, like trinkets.

I'd clear what you can by yourself, then Pug the rest... more shards for you!

Its definitely worth doing it just for fun and experience.. Yea you wont be able to upgrade your gear but you will learn many things.. And once you are done with the heroic grind theres nothing left to do in PvE

I cant say i learned anything from 5 boxing naxx, ulduar or even ToC, its no different than doing heroics.

Attack the boss, do a) b) or c) when he does ability, heal the tank, collect loot.

Why are you doing it then? There are ppl out there who dont care about gear in the first place.. Its fun and you learn how to master different situations which can be very helpful in future raids etc.

The way you look at it its of course the same as doing a heroic, but its different a), b) and c)'s you gotta deal with and adapt to.. Which is what I call learning..

This is probably very true. I will stay farming heroics for the gold I don't need then.
