    Question Q: Keyclone Beginners Tutorial

Hi everyone. I'm new to this. I have a 2 PC setup and 2 seperate LotRO accounts. I bought a new IOGear KVM that doesn't seem to cycle quick enough to control so invites and trades are impossible. A kinsman told me about Keyclone. I haven't been able to find a guide that takes you step by step to set this up. I don't really need to do anything complicated at the moment. Just follow and target and assist with maybe special attacks for now. Is this easy? Is there a tutorial somewhere that I failed to find.

    Thank You...

With Keyclone, you'll need one license per computer you are running.
The licenses are forever, they never expire, and can be transferred to new systems etc.
I'm not sure how well it runs LotRO, having never played the game.

Within warcraft, Keyclone pretty much broadcasts every key you press.
If you press 1, on the active window, each of your other clients gets a 1 press too.
You can also set a white list, where only keys on the list are broadcast.
Or a blacklist, where certain keys are never broadcast.
There is a Pause key, (pause by default) which suspends broadcasting.

You can run multiple accounts on one machine, with Picture in Picture windows.
Or alternatively run multiple Keyclones across your network.

I've moved to Innerspace from Keyclone.
I know InnerSpace will run LotRO, because there are options to check when playing LotRO.

This is a subscription option, where $36 gets you just over a year of time.
And it is good for use on up to 5 computers at once, with a single subscription.

For Warcraft, it has near instantaneous PiP swap speed.
And far superior mouse broadcasting, for clicking portals or npc's etc.

You can enable keyboard/mouse broadcasting, so it performs like Keyclone.
But you can disable it (the default state) and use Keymaps.
Keymaps are hotkeys which are broadcast to specific windows.
They are incredibly flexible, and can accomplish anything you want them to.

IMO, IS is a far stronger product.
The only detraction is the subscription nature, but it is maintained and updated regularly which is very nice.
I believe IS runs on a lot of different games, much more so then the other software boxing options.

I use keyclone to dualbox Lotro, but be aware of the fact you need 2 pc's to dualbox with Keyclone in Lotro, as Lotro does no't support 'focus' for Lotro atm, to run it on 1 pc.

With IS, you can run multiple copies of LotRO, on one PC.
Not sure how well it runs, but there are check marks to tick (in the wizard) for LotRO.

    Question Still need Advice

Well as I said in my OP... I have two (2) seperate PCs AND two (2) seperate LotRO Accounts. I would love to utilize one box for controling two (2) clients. Whatever is the best and cheapest solution.

Long term, two copies of Keyclone, one per machine.
Ends up costing you $20 each, or $40 total.
    And that is good forever.

I personally think IS Boxer offers more features, making it a stronger choice for boxing.
But the cost is $36 per year (subscription is good for up to 5 computers).
In the first year it's about the same price.
But then you'd need to renew.
The additional options are worth it, in my opinion.

Your cheapest solution is HotKeyNet which is free. A friend of mine boxes LOTRO with 2 machines and HKN without too many problems. If you are not comfortable with the idea of editing scripts then you probably shouldn't go HKN.

    Question

Ualaa: Thank you for that break down...

thinus: Would your friend be willing to post his setup. I suck at understanding scripting. LOL I dunno. But maybe to see how your friend scripts for LotRO would help. I only really want to have my second toon follow my main around and heal/assist/loot/harvest. That's really it.

    Thanks...

Innerspace and ISBoxer tookit all the way. I am a 3 boxer of Lotro. I started out with Keyclone, but then found out that I had a strong enough machine to run more then 1 instance of Lotro on 1 machine. Only thing that I found holding me back was a memory issue so I upgraded to 4 gigs and am running Innerspace with ISBoxer toolkit. I can change over to each of the characters on the fly which is great when your deconstructing and reforging weapons in places like dolven-view or 21st hall.
Also if you think of a new key mapping you can add it while your playing and test it right away.

One of the key things to running multiple instances of Lotro on the same computer, Innerspace solves with the ISBoxer tookit, is telling other windows of Lotro they are in the forefront so they will accept keyboard imput.

Also whats great about it is that you can map keys in such a fashion that specific instances get keys. Like for instance sending a heal from your minstrel to your hunter. Also IS is also designed to work with the GKeys of the G13 and G15 from Logitech. those are extra keys that you can use to map specific actions to, like Mount Horse, or lf your a guardian turn the table skill.
If your looking for the best boxing software for Lotro, take my word, Innerspace with ISBoxer toolkit is it.

It even has a wizard to help you get setup, and Lax has videos that help walk you thru it as well. If you have questions he has a 24/7 internet relay chat channel that you can go to ask questions. If he is away from keys someone in the channel may know the answer.
Take my word for it, the 36 it cost you is worth it and I will be renewing. If your wondering who I am in Lotro. I am on the Meneldor server and my main at the moment is Martrina and am a member of Cliff Divers of Middle Earth. Feel free to pay me a visit if you have questions.
And if you do start boxing in Lotro, Welcome to the Dark Side.......lol.
