    Default Shaman castsequence macro?

Hi, I know its been covered before the differences between castsequence and castrandom and im not here to start a internet war over it but I was wondering if anyone had found a nice rotation yet for a castsequence fpr elemental shammys. Im using castrandom at the moment but im just finding its just throwing out lightning bolts wayyy too often and leaving LvB and Cl on cooldowns way longer than it should be, even with multiple instances of the spell in castrandom and only like 1 lightning bolt at the end of it. I noticed when I played my shammy manually I got like another extra 500-1000dps tops out of him then what I do when I multibox with him.

If anyone wouldnt mind posting their castsequence it would be appreciated, and also the macro so when you switch targets it casts flame shock on them first then goes to the sequence, I had it before but when i switched to castrandom I forgot to save it and cant seem to find it on the forums again.

I have flameshock/lava burst and chain lightning on seperate buttons also but I find im having to hit him way more often than I probably should be

I don't use castsequences for my clones, but if I did, I would use /castsequence [reset=target] FS, LvB, LB, LB, LB, LvB, LB, LB, FS I know it's long but you want to try to leave FS up as long as possible. You could mess with the order a bit, how many LB, add in a CL or whatever, but that's a basic rotation for elemental. The [reset=target] will start the sequence over if you change targets or if the sequence finishes. (if I'm wrong on that, someone correct me, that's how it was the last time I used a castsequence macro)

Yeah I know how reset works, I can make my own castsequence but thought id ask if anyone had perfected one first anyway.

Has anyone got the macro to apply flameshock when you change targets before going to the castrandom or castsequence? cant find it on the forums I know its here but

Read all the posts carefully. It will become evident why you don't want castsequence. There are lots of idea and explanation in this thread. Elemental Shaman DPS macro figured out.

tinker around with something like this. try removing chain lightning for a "boss all out single target dps macro" as its a waste of mana imo, regular lightning > chain lightning vs 1 target.

    /assist party1
    /castsequence reset=target Flame Shock, Null
/castrandom Lava Burst, Lava Burst, Lava Burst, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Flame Shock

some people have said to use the below macro,

/castsequence reset=target Flame Shock, Lava Burst, null
/castrandom Lava Burst yada yada yada (same as the other one)

but i dont like having the lava burst in the sequence, just on random, because its such a long cooldown its rarely up just after killing trash and switching targets so the shaman will shock and then just sit there rather than spamming a lightning bolt or 2 before lava burst comes up again.

also another decent option is just purely using castrandom and hoping it keeps the flame shock up, overall it may be better dps but i like going a full run and seeing 100% crit with lava burst

    example of macro without sequence;

    /assist party1
/castrandom Lava Burst, Lava Burst, Lava Burst, Flame Shock, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning

theory behind having the same spell in there multiple times, has better odds of "randomly" casting it. not sure if its true or not but it sounds good to me so i use it.

I run a mixed group and I have a seperate key that casts "starter" spells like Flame Shock and Fairy Fire on my alts which I lead with before spamming my DPS macro. That way you know they get applied and don't have to bother with them. Then I use a castrandom for the other spells.

    I stand by my /castsequence

/castsequence reset=combat Flame Shock, Lava Burst, Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning

I use castrandom and spam the button a zillion times. Bigfish has a good plan for this with /click I think. There is a thread on it and that guy cogswheel has some kind of macro that calls other macros also but I never go it to work.

Might move this thread to the macro section ....
