    Default Multiboxing with EvE online

I know that Multiboxing originated in EQ and WoW, I myself who used to multibox 6 WoW characters at a time (i know its nothing to these days standards), was wondering if anyone has tried to multibox EvE Online?? If not i'm going to give it a shot, I moved to EvE when my 80 UD mage got hacked a while back. EvE should be quite simple to multibox, I've heard that bouncing the mouseclick to every window has improved quite a bit and since EvE online is all UI based I shouldn't be too hard...I'll keep everyone updated.

No real key commands so youd need a mouse replicator. Beyond that the gameplay is slow enough where you could do it manually without much problem.
Currently running 10 miners in Eve Online.

IMO theres not a whole lot of automation that can be done - it's simply a whole buttload of clicking. The only automation I recall is the "Warp Fleet/Gang to (target planet/belt/gate/bookmark)".
Resto Shaman + 4 DK's, work in progress...

No real key commands would be true but as far as the slow gameplay I will have to disagree. I'm not trying to multibox missions but more so 0.0 sec pvp...which is NOT slow paced by any means.

This is also true, lots of clicking. The main things behind using keyclone would be like, activating all the guns on 2-3 accounts at once or activating modules..etc...saves a lot of alt tabing, though I do agree with redbeard, I will be relying more on the mouse passing capabilities with keyclone.

Well have to agree to disagree then. Even in a PVP environment, theres just not a lot you can do quickly. Find a target, lock. Your mods should already be activated. Turn on your guns (or EWAR etc).

Im not saying you can go AFK im just saying, its pretty slow paced compared to other MMOs in my opinion.

A lot of ships require that you understand the relationship between you and your target, then maximize advantages and minimize disadvantages.

What I remember is an old russian friend(Stedanko, I seem to think) single-handedly taking out 7-8 tacklers at long range while avoiding sniper bs at a gatecamp. That was incredible, and what really got me into pvp.

The ability to judge your opponents weapon capabilities, and know your own matters a lot. If I'm in a stabber rocking autocannons, and my opponent is using a sniper-fitted bs, there are optimal situations for him and me. Maximizing that difference is does require thought and skill if you want to win in a *competetive* game. I remember having a blast owning interceptors (T2) with some of my backup rifters (T1) simply because I understood what range and traversal velocity was best for me, worst for him and manuvered to that position and relative speed.

While they do support faceroll playstyles(missleboats *cough*), players should use their ships' comparative advantages and exploit their enemies' weaknesses. (they have things like tracking, optimal range and falloff in the game for a reason!)

i used to 3 client eve,

2 miners in Domi's and a hauler account running around. 0.0 was always fun since both domi pilots were way up there in mining and drone skills

I'm watching this with interest. Eve has always been a game that I wanted to get into, but I first played it when it was first released and the learning curve .. what learning curve. Players all seemed so paranoid about spies and the like, that they never gave others much time, unless they knew them. I used to love playing Elite, one that the older among us will remember, Eve just seems to offer all of that and more. Keep us updated and I may just be tempted to come over too.

There is no real analog to spies in any other game, and it is an interesting facet of the game. At the high end, they push you to build social structures based on chains of trust, which are much more interesting and complex than those motivated by want (better epix). The reason that folks screen for spies is that while there are good reasons to want more people, there are potential losses (intel reporting from spies, theft, scams, sabotoge, etc).

And the learning curve is definitely there, really there is nothing like it out there so you have to learn
    a)what you like to do
    b) how to do it
    c) how to do better than most people, or at least some of your competitors ( even many pve aspects are somewhat competitive)

Eve does not define the goal, it gives you tools to be a part of an interesting system. Most folks don't get past item A, as most games define the goals for you. It is really a bigger shift than I can properly emphasize. When you get the hang of it, it is really an immensely intricate game. I went nose-deep into most aspects of the game, and they really are quite interesting, and each have their nuances and surprises.

The biggest draw for me was and still remains that it rewards thought and skill in almost every aspect, and that even losses are valuable learning experiences. For now I'm enjoying the brain-deadness of button-clicking and pve content of WoW with some work buddies, but I figure I'll reactivate some of my accounts one of these days.
