Default What is the best WOTLK instance to grind for XP?

    Hey there,

So the subject says it all.. what is the best WOTLK instance to grind for XP? I'm looking for typical instances w/o frills that can simply be DPS'd down without having to go through some strange strategy for boss fights/pulls/etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

EDIT: Assume you are 5boxing the instance with ranged DPS

I can say from experience for XP/hr and ease of run, UK is way better than Nexus. After those two instances I'm not sure what comes next, but start at UK and run it a bunch for good XP.
    <Multiplicity>
Blood Elf Death Knight, 4 Orc Shaman - Burning Legion Horde US (PvP)
    Ellianaa - Haachoo - Hachu - Hachuu - Hahchoo

Heroics down: Gundrak, Drak'Tharon, Utgarde Keep, Utgarde Pinnacle, Culling of Stratholme, Halls of Lightning, Ahn'Kahet, Violet Hold, Nexus, Azjol-Nerub, Halls of Stone

Violet Hold has some nice benefits of being so close to an inn, everything is in one room, it's level 75, so should be good to grind from 75-80.

Downside is the first two bosses are random so it takes a little bit of practice to get the hang of all of them.

I haven't kept track of xp/hour there yet, as I still make mistakes and wipe sometimes there. I actually get an upgrade or two, and the gear I don't need will DE into a large dream shard.
    Alliance Team
BM Hunters x 2 lvl 80, Survival Hunter lvl 80, Marksman Hunter lvl 80, Resto Druid lvl 80
    Horde Team
BM hunter 76, Enhancement Shaman 76

Depends on your team configuration, I suppose.

Here's some nice things about the Nexus:

It can be run in a "loop" without actually needing to kill any bosses. (If you're just trying to maximize XP/hour, this is nice) I killed all the bosses except for the last boss in most of my XP maximizing runs.

I found the bosses to be a bit easier than the UK ones, at least for my 4xHunter+Healer setup.

It's a very convenient dungeon to get to, and has vendors nearby. I had a (Horde) hearthstone at Warsong Hold and could easily scoot over there.

I didn't particularly find the Azjol-Nerub dungeons to be good XP/hour farming, other than the first run or two to get the juicy Dungeon Quests knocked out.

Drak'tharon is good XP as well. I am grinding it a lot now that my team is 75ish.

Can't speak more about the other ones. I find that Nexus == BC Blood Furnace in terms of XP/hour, though.
    Cranky old-timer.

Gkar-- I want to try Violet Hold next. How do you like it with 4xHunters+Druid (my setup exactly)??

Urgarde Keep, Old Kingdom, Drak'tharon Keep, Gundrak are alright instances .. the ones that were best - exp wise - Drak'tharon Keep being the worst. Gundrak being the best, WITHOUT a doubt.

The Nexus is alright, just some fucked up trash mobs. Azjol-Nerub is alright, but there's no trash loot (!) and quite alot of downtime aswell.

I levelled 70-80 in instances, did only 2 quest outside instances.

I did every instance up to Violet Hold a couple of times atleast now.

UK is doable to farm, has some annoying things though, if i remember correctly.

    Nexus, annoying instance imo :P

Azjol'nerub/Old Kingdom. Some annoying bosses, which require movement etc. Not farmable imo.

Drak'Theran is a good instance to farm aswell, aslong as your tank has enough health/avoidance to live through the skeleton phases on the last boss. I suppose that might be an issue for some, only ran it with a T6 prot pally. :>

Gundrak is great, bosses are all nukeable and a pretty easy instance as long as you gank the Fire Mages asap so they don't mess you up with Blast Wave. Ran it about 10 times i think, The last boss drops a great caster cloak aswell. (70% droprate)

Violet Hold, takes about 15-20 min to finish and is great. I get about 10-11% of a lvl at lvl 77. Fully Rested though. So would be 5-5,5% nonrested. Lagg in Dalaran can be annoying though. I'm running it atm to lvl up, tired of the questing.

/2 WTB tank for Violet hold, normal. 100g a run. (3 shards, some uncommons, cloth and the greys will probably almost pay it back anyway.)

Gives me a tank mostly after 1 post in trade. So far i could always pick a lvl 80 with 25k+ health.

haven't done any higher lvl instances yet.

Sidenote: The dailies in Grizzly hills gives 20k exp till lvl 77 each. There are 7 who are easily doable as boxer within 30 min if you're slow. So 140k exp + 7x 6,50g for each char. And the Venture Coins for the lava burst totem. I skip the gather parts Dailies.

Venture bay has 3. "smoke them out", kill 15 horde, kill the elite.

If you follow the river up north from Venture Bay, there's a kill 15 horde Daily aswell on a small island in the river.(questgiver is on top of a small waterfall).

And in the Logging Grounds there are 3 Dailies aswell. Kill 15 horde, Heal up 10 wounded guys(heals are party shared), bring back 3 Machines(if you deliver one, it's party shared, just find 3 and auto run them to the camp, one slave in each, they can move through water)

when I was a lower lvl I was clearing the dragon room in UK in about 10 mins. That over 20k exp and loot. Explain to me how boxing 5 toons with quests is faster as I am all ears.
The last thing the enemy will see is my Muzzle Flash of Freedom!
