If you just want sound off when the client isn't focus'd you can disable sound in background in the default sound control panel. This gives the same performance boost as having sound OFF on all the other clients and is automatically handled as you switch mains. Unfortunately it's not 100% accurate and sometimes you end up with two clients with audio, this is very rare and normally fixes it's self within 10-15 seconds.

I just leave the sound on on my main AND have it set to play even when in the background - since my main and alts are right next to each other, if I'm controlling an alt I still hear everything almost as good as I would if that alt had the sound on himself.

I also can then browse a website and still know when I'm getting attacked because I can hear the sounds playing from the main wow window still

    Code:
    /run SetCVar("Sound_EnableAllSound","0")
    or

    Code:
    /console Sound_EnableAllSound 0
Will turn off all sounds replacing the zero with a 1 will of course enable them all at the volume you previously had them set to.

    Good luck hope it helps.

Adding "-nosound" to the command as a parameter when you run the game works, too.

You don't even have to have separate folders for the slaves. Just set Keyclone to add "-nosound" to wow.exe when you run it.

    Default Why a macro?

Just type CTRL+S. That toggles the sound. No reason to waste precious macro space when there's a built in shortcut for it in WoW.

I believe he mentioned his reason for not using the keybind in the original post, he also asked for a macro not a run command, so that he might be able to toggle the sound at will. Thusly, only one post answers the original question. Took me a damn good 4minutes to find the command too :P
