Default Perfect World - Anti-Boxing protection?

I've noticed its been almost a year since the last time a thread regarding the game "Perfect World" has been started, and so I've decided to start a new one instead of necroing an old one.

I am new to multi-boxing, and so I was very perplexed with the results shown when trying to dual-box the Malaysian version of Perfect World.

My setup is as follows: I have my PC with 2 instances of the game running on it, together with KeyClone. For convenience's sake, I have the games running in windowed mode, unfortunately (and I am not sure if thats standard) the game's window does not render while it does not have focus, which means I must alt-tab, or give it focus with the mouse to see actual updates on the other character.

And now the peculiarities begin. I've set up all of the appropriate KeyClone categories, but nothing appeared to be working. On closer inspection, I've realized most keys were fully functional, and only movement was impaired.
To elaborate, I could send any key from one app to the other, and they are received. However, when using the "wasd" keys (non-configurable) only the character directly controlled by me was moved. When trying to chat by inputting the sequence: "Enter,w,a,s,d", both characters had said "wasd". So those keys definitely register.

Is this a common phenomenon? Is it likely to be the result of a bug? Or a mistake I have made?

The more I read, the more I understand the ability to control my other toon as a puppet is obsolete, as what I actually want is to use the "follow" command as often as possible, but still, this bothers me.

Any one cares to shed some light on this problem?

Sounds to me like the game requires being locked in the forground. This is a feature that IS can do for you.

As I said, I am yet to fully immerse myself in the world of Dual-Boxing. What does "IS" stand for?

You can get the application here and I believe he does do trials for folks wanting to give the software a shot.

IS is INCREDIBLY powerful, but does take a bit more effort to get functional than keyclone....however, that being said. Keyclone pretty much ONLY works with wow out of the box, and requires IS in pretty much every other game. Considering that IS does everything keyclone does... if you are going to play anything but wow, IS is damn good software to have.

Pretty comprehensive guide to IS in my signature, it's wow centric but since IS works with any DX9 game it will apply elsewhere as well.

According to one moderator on the Perfect World International forums it is a bannable offense to run multiple clients on the same machine, and both state only one active account per computer.

As long as you play on two different computers (One client on each computer) it is allowed just do not open two clients on the same computer.

No. Only one active account per computer (computer defined by motherboard) at any one time. Running multiple copies of the client at a time on a single computer is a bannable offense. The client software will even try to stop you from doing so.
I hope that clears it up.

It's their game, their rules, and it's free to play. Something to note about the interface itself is that it doesn't lend itself to multiboxing due to it's targeting system being based on clicking on what you want to target which means that in order to assist your other toon(s) you have to click on it then hit your assist key-bind (no tab targettting).

I like to think of it as controlled chaos keeping tabs on two monitors while moving your hands between stacked keyboards and mice.
