Thread: Totem Macros

    Default Totem Macros

    Hi,

I'm new to multi boxing and the shaman class (although I've played 6 others to levelcap). I just started leveling 5 shamans and I'm having alot of fun with it. I've got a faint idea of how I want my totem macros to look for both pve and pvp, but any suggestions or guides would be much appreciated.

    Thanks so much

    Code:
    /castsequence reset=5 totem1, totem2, totem3, totem4
    simple as that :P

You can fine tune it a little. I have one that I use for PVP and a different one I use for PVE. Also, adjust it so that the totems with the shortest duration such as Grounding Totem (45sec) is the first one in the list, while things like Healing Stream and Mana Spring with 5 min. durations are at the end. That way, during the fight when the shorties expire, you can just hit the button a time or two to keep them all laid down...

I use the shift modifier to pick them back up again!

    PVE:

/castsequence [nomodifier:shift] reset=3 grounding totem, mana spring totem, flametongue totem, stoneskin totem; totemic call

    PVP:

/castsequence [nomodifier:shift] reset=3 searing totem, grounding totem, mana spring totem, stoneskin totem; totemic call
    Kilrogg-US:
    2x80 shammies (robshammya/robshammyb), 80 druid/80 rogue (Anglesey/Whatchadoo), 80 Hunter/80 Shammy(Huntrchic/Crynomoor), 2x81 pallys(Robpallya/Robpallyb)

Ok - I assume you are pressing shift after each GCD to get a totem to spawn? You can't have them spawn automatically from one character with one button push right

Also, I was specifically looking for macros across multiple shamans i.e. grounding on one, windfury on another etc, but this is helpful as well

Yeah, it only drops one totem per button push, about 1 per second ... I have 2 shammies, so I pick my 2 favorites for each class of totem, and then balance them for the fastest expiring ones to go first in the sequence... However, since Mana Spring now stacks, I do drop two of those. In fact, I have a second macro setup that only drops the mana springs.

    Default totems huh

Ok i also 5 box shamans this is what i do. It might seem like a lot of work but i on my macro for main he will do the /castsequence his four then on alts all of them have the cast sequence as well but only the fire totem is the same their cast sequences have differnt totems so say my main casts earthbind, fire, healing, grounding. My alts will cast something like strength, fire, mana, windfury and the next alt does a different sequence. I use keyclone so i find this easy i click the number 3 button they do thier cast sequences then when i notice the first one go i hit the number 4 to call them back then repeat with three. I find this alot easier just set the cast sequences on each alt different from everyone else so they all lay different totems. So when u lay 20 totems in all only 4 of those totems are the same all the other 16 are different i hope this helps
They say spiders have 8 legs well i guess im a rare and unimaginable specimen. Ive got 9 legs and my web comes from that 9th leg. HaHa.

I've got 5 shammies, but 4 will arena and 5 will BG.

My initial drop is a castsequence for each on the same keybind.
Tremor pulses every 2 seconds, so I get two Tremors out spaced a second apart, as part of my initial sequence.
Four grounding totems are placed pretty much immediately as well.

Totem of Wrath, Wrath of Air, Mana Spring Totem, Stoneclaw Totem
Grounding Totem, Tremor Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
Tremor Totem, Grounding Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Searing Totem
Grounding Totem, Fire Resistance Totem, Frost Resistance, Earthbind Totem
Grounding Totem, Searing Totem, Healing Stream Totem, Stoneclaw Totem

All of the shammies have Grounding Totem on a hotkey, for immediate placement of five groundings at once.
Once my initial totems are down, I'll spam my Tremor Totem macro:

    /castsequence reset=5 Tremor Totem,,,,
    /castsequence reset=5 ,Tremor Totem,,, (etc)

Since the pulse of a Tremor totem is 2 seconds, I'd ideally like to press the key every 0.40 seconds in BG's (with 5 totems) or every 0.50 seconds in Arena (with 4 totems).
That way, Tremor pulses every half-second or so. They were part of the initial set, but this is much better protection from a fear-bomb.

Well, it is probably not the most efficient way, but I didn't do a totem macro for my five Shamans. I just have 4 keys I press in sequence that drop a totem on each Shaman. For a given key, the totem can be the same or different one on each Shaman.

I find this approach to give me much more flexibility as I can drop totem 1 and totem 4 only, or re-drop totem 3 only on a long fight, etc... Also, I can occasionally re-setup my totems just by dragging them from the spell book, without messing around with macros.

This does use 4 buttons instead of one, though, but this doesn't bother me (using a N52, so I basically don't lack keys).

I use a totem bar addon for the purpose of dropping different combinations...

    Default totems

My question is when u make the macro
castsequence reset=45 then it drops earthbind, fire, healing, grounding

can u add another command at the end that calls them all back the recall spell so u can regain some of your mana before replacing them again or is that not allowed or a good idea

    so it would be
    /cast sequence reset = 45 earthbind,fire,healing,grounding
    /cast recall

or something like that or how would u make the macro

    thanx again
