In the absence of any meaningful information that could help us to help you, search for maxfpsbk. If you're CPU bound, that and maxfps will almost certainly help.

If, after setting maxfps/maxfpsbk to reasonable values you still have problems then post more of your system details (number of cores, number of monitors, OS, etc) and tell us what observations you are able to make when you run both WoWs.

Of most interest would be whether you are CPU-bound or memory constrained.

As for your assertion that the Wiki fails to provide you with enough information on how to create two copies of WoW, and that it "is useless" (quoted from the title of your other post), you are quite wrong. It works for everybody else just by following those steps.

If it didn't work for you, either you did something wrong or there's "something else" going on here that only affects you. It does not imply any lack of clarity in the Wiki, and it certainly does not imply that the Wiki article is in any way useless.

In fact, you're generally likely to get better responses if you can manage to phrase your questions in less emotive terms, even in the face of the obvious frustration you feel at being unable to get even something as simple as a dual installation of WoW going.

    1 Monitor or 2?

    Dual view or span?

Rob (keyclone) would likely recommend turning yer sample rate (I think) to 24/16/1 in yoru video settings. Also ensure vertical sync is not enabled.

As for 2 wow folders - this should be easy. Ensure that you can view all files (possibly hidden files are not being copied). If yer using XP: Tools -> Folder options -> View tab (radio button 'show hidden files and folders'). It may be possible if anything there is hidden (though I honestly can't remember if anything is - I'm leaning towards not). You should be able to select *everything* within your wow folder (ctrl-a) and then go up a directory, create a new folder and paste the contents in.

An easier way to play from 2 folders is just to go to your World of Warcraft folder, right click on it, choose copy, then choose paste, it will make something like "Copy of World of Warcraft" - rename that once its done copying to Wow2, then go into the Wow2 directory, right click on the Wow.exe file (RIGHT click), and drag it to your desktop, then choose "Create shortcut here" and then rename the new shortcut to Wow2.

Now, you can click your original WoW link for the first account, and click the Wow2 link for the second one.

Personally I run 5 at the same time and I have all 5 accounts in separate folders...the main account actually has 2 folders - one that is in full screen mode with full mods for when I'm playing a single character, and then 1 Wow1 folder with minimal mods and windowed mode for when I 5 box.
