I am getting close to having my 1x Pally and 4x Shammy team to level 85. Once I ding, I will begin 4x DKs to make my core PVP and hopefully just as effective PvE team.

Question is I am still new and coming back. I have quested mostly and not done the instances since Burning Crusade (quit after reaching max level in BC). Since then, a lot has changed. Listening to podcasts and reading I have learned a few things, but also become confused somewhat. For example, I have understood the following:

5 Man dungeons in Cata are extremely difficult for multiboxing and heroics are nearly impossible (different than in BC where it was possible)
LFR teams of 10 and 25 man raids are easier than normal raids
LFR dungeons are significanlty easier than 5 man dungeons and offer better gear (little strategy to worry about in LFR).
Is this really true?

I like to do both pve and pvp and will do the AV grind for honor points to buy stuff. I will do the daily to get honor and maybe try to do some LFR as I heard some gear is also OK for a new PVP team.

5 mans are hard for boxers yes.

LFR raids are only in 25 man, and are very easy, does not take long at all to learn the fights.

LFR raids have slightly worse gear than the normal version.

LFR dungeons have exact same gear as getting 5 people and entering manually.

My recommendation is to PVP a lot, and eventually convert HP into JP, get what PVE gear you can from the vendor, then take 2 chars at a time through some LFR heroics (the 3 new ones) and all dps at once through LFR raids asap.

You need to have iLevel 371-373 to do LFR. Easiest way to do that quickly is to go by the AH and get the 377 gear that is BOE. I made 377 cloak, relic, neck, and 2 x rings that were the blue crafted PVP gear because I had a tailor, inscriptionist and JC. After that if you have PVPed at all you can get another 2-3 390 pieces of gear (bracers, shoulders, gloves) for nearly or just over 4K honor. If you do the random BG daily you will get close to 500 honor for winning that BG and 100 conquest points. So weekly with ease you should be earning close to 8-12K honor for hardly any effort. You can then convert your honor to JP if you want PVE gear or continue to get PVP gear.

Once you hit iLevel 353 queue up for the new heroic instances. You get nice 378 quest rewards. So do all 3 instances on each toon to get your quest rewards and JP. Buy JP gear with those.

LFR is pretty easy but not a guaranteed gear up. It only takes an hour or so to do both 4 boss instances. Some say queue up singal toons to have best shot at loot. On the other hand you might win alot, I have done some and been the only shaman in the raid so caster mail was easy to acquire in those instances. Doing both instances gives I think 500 valor and the first time you do the instance I think you get 1K.

There are lots of threads here that describe the new bosses as well as videos. They are boxable in the new heroics and LFR. So don't get beat down get in there and get your loot... or just PVP to get your purples.

Which ones are you referring too? The HOT heroics are on WOTLK heroic levels... very easy to box and gear up.

I agree. The 4.3 heroics (with the possible exception of Baine) are WAY easier to box than most of the earlier heroics. Your gear level, naturally, will make a big difference though. I am in mostly 378/384/397 gear. I suggest boxing LFR (with all toons doing dps) each week at the very least. If you have trouble boxing the new heroics, then do them with single (or 2) toons one at a time. They go really fast. 30-45 min with real people.

My problem with LFR is that people have a tendency to hate boxers and vote kick often.

My problem with LFR is that people have a tendency to hate boxers and vote kick often.
There is a reason for that, I looted 3 tier items from one boss ( funny thing is it was 1 char that got all loot on rolls ).
After that people started next encounter and stopped tanking/healing and made us wipe and I got kicked, not the first time that happend either :(....
