Best method for managing multiple logins/accounts?

From some general LOTRO forum reading, it seems like you can have multiple logins attached to one account. I believe the main benefit is that you can a single email address and interface for paying your subs.

Is there much benefit in doing this?
How do you set it up?
Is anyone worried that having multiple login's attached to the same email makes it easier to determine who is boxing, should Turbine change its stance?

Lotro accounts arent like WoW's Battle.net.
Lotro = 1 account > 1 E-mail > 1 Username > 1 Password

For example: i 5 box, so i have 5 different accounts, all different usernames and passwords. Each account has all the same details though.

Please note that you can only have 1 LOTRO subscription per Account (username). However, you can have multiples of other Turbine games, and multiple Turbine games associated with a single Account/username.


So unfortunately your just gonna have to set up different accounts for how ever many toons you plan to box.

This is incorrect. You can have one Turbine account with multiple LotRO accounts. I use one login in the Turbine launcher and then can select which of the 5 accounts I want to actually log in with. I am at work, so I can't upload an image of my Turbine launcher to show the multiple accounts, but here is my account management login showing multiple LotRO accounts under one main Turbine login.

Launcher screenshot. I launch with IS and then just select the account I want for each window. It isn't very elegant, but it isn't a huge burden either.

Yeah, Dezeral is correct. I'm not sure from where that Turbien employee quote was pulled but it is indeed inaccurate. You can absolutely have multiple subscriptions of LotRO on the same account.

This statement can actually be found in the F2P FAQ sticky on the forums.

Don't be concerned about multi-boxing. It is prevalent in most every MMO out there. Turbine's stance is that there is nothing wrong with it--they just don't support it. So, don't file bugs about multi-boxing issues as you will only get a canned response that you will not be helped.

Continue to ask questions here or on the the LotRO forums--just be prepared for some heated, and often idiotic, posts on an multi-boxing thread you might start.

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and made 2 new f2p accounts, with the same info as my main account.

Are there any tangible benefits of having the accounts linked? Luckily with f2p, I can just ditch the accounts I made and not feel bad about it.

i personally like all 7 of mine not linked ... i really cannot think of any advantage of having them all under one roof ... but i may be missing something obvious

I create a single account just to play around with and thought I might two box it but holy crap...I can't figure out how to create the second account. This seems complicated.
