40-60 Mage Boosting?

Hey guys, recent convert here wondering what would be my best bet on mage boosting past SM? should i just bit the bullet and quest 40-60 or is it possible to do ZF/Strath as a mage? Any constructive mage boosters that have done this would be fantastic help for me.

The mage i currently do SM with has 10k/10k and 400resilience so hes pretty well off on damage reduction, im just curious on if mage boosting is as good or better than prot pal boosting at this level bracket.

Well imo for fastest and easiest power leveling. grab a prot AND mage to do an instance in probably under 10 mins. continuously. i don't know if im right but, i think if your logged out while they pull the instance then u log in, and join group / walk into instance and they AOE the mobs near entrence (hellas xp) and then walk out / loggout. your rested XP wont go away. thus giving 200% xp infinatly if you continue that process. idk. i havnt tried it or really looked into it. i just know thats what ATENE did O_o.
theres varius boosting guides over teh internetz. just make google usefull.

let me rephrase a bit, Im 3boxing my 3 ele shaman team with my mage boosting them currently through SM.. theyre all level 36 so far, 40+ by the end of the day. Id assume as a 70 mage with about 1050 damage frost spec and like said before 10k/10k hp/mana packs in Strath would be doable solo?

all characters are linked via RAF so theyre getting their 300% xp and im not worried about rested until 60+ hehe.

Perhaps i'll just continue youtubing videos =p

Blizzard stopped Athene's method from working some time ago.

Personally, I haven't yet bothered boosting beyond SM but there are lots of discussions here about where and how to boost in ZF and beyond.

I'll leave it to people who have actually done it to respond, but in the mean-time you could use the Search facility (http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?form=search) with the following search string, for example: +boost +mage +zf

No matter whether you use a mage or a prot pally, the biggest problem with ZF is the hex so if you can't remove that, I'd skip it if I were you.

My first team i had some really helpfull buddies. Get to 20 head to SM 3 shammys healing a mage goes fast. My buddy was fire for the dragons breath, really helps with healing. After sm we went to BRD which you can enter at 40. EXP is slower at 40 then ZF but way less hassle. Very little moving involved. Farm the intial area upon entering and then do the arena and the other ring. Rinse and repeat. 45-50 is nasty EXP. Make sure you get all the quests theres a bunch. Be sure to start the ONY key chain if your allaince. I was ony attuned at 52 lol. After you hit 50-52. Head to LBRS snag all the Gems for the UBRS key 100% drop now it seems, get them on all 3 toons. Get the LBRS quests. Try to plan it so you ding 55 in a run. If you do make sure you kill Wyrmthak ( if your ally) get the 2% spell crit trinket. 55 i head to ramparts, this is where the mage slows down. I used a warrior you can go from 55-60 in a few hours, provided you do all the quests for the instances and go back to Lbrs and do the UBRS key quest and complete the ony chain. I always do this for my toons so they end up with both crit trinkets spell or melee. Not to mention the ony loot is pretty nice for the time it takes to kill her.

hehe sorry about the late reply, been killing time on rockband with the servers being down.

I actually play on horde for these toons, all male orcs :D out of curiousity how geared was the warrior you used to do ramparts? I can use a friends considering my warrior is on the same account as 1 of my shaman so id have to use an alternative. that char is only in full S1 gear would that suffice?

run them at sm to 45 then go strat until 60 at 3x you will do well

Stratholme is a very nice instance because of the quick respawning trash mobs.... if you have a healer you can easily AoE a most of the instance and reset

Will try to use my ret paladin since prot pretty much fails for me since i have 0 prot gear but s1/s2 pvp gear and it feels faster to kill them like that.. if its to slow i will change to my warrior but i assume he will kill faster due to sweeping strikes and WW...
